I don't have the book for this hike at the moment, but I made this Hike in July 2002 on my first drive to Denver of the year.

My buddy, the squirrel scared me nearly to death when I was absorbing the atmosphere and he decided that the popcorn in my hand was tasty.  He started begging after a couple of minutes.  Keep in mind that this squirrel is begging for food 10 miles into the back country.  And they say we humans don't change our environment.
