Egypt Lake Campground to Whistling pass - 3.3 km (2.1 miles)

 

Elevation Gain: 305 metres (1,000 feet)

Elevation Loss: 380 metres (1,250 feet)

 

Maximum Elevation: 2300 metres (7,550 feet)

 

Description:

No trip to Egypt Lake is complete without visiting Whistling Valley - a spectacular gap nestled between the Pharaoh Peaks and the sheer escarpment of the Great Divide. The valley, along with Scarab and Mummy Lakes, can be hiked as a day trip from the Egypt Lake Campground...

I assume that these pictures are Whistling Valley because I was unable to go any further due to the knee deep snow that prevented any further exploration.  The little gopher/raccoon-like animals were pretty brave and very cute.

Scarab lake itself looks like any other mountain lake but the views were quite spectacular. I couldn't make it to Mummy Lake due to snow.
